There’s a new apple coming out of the Fairfield Orchards packing shed, and it’s already turning heads well beyond our own gate. Meet Crunchi: sweet, juicy and, true to its name, made to bite.
Crunchi is a premium New Zealand apple with an explosive crunch and a beautifully balanced sweetness. It’s a bright, vibrant piece of fruit with real shelf appeal, and it’s grown in the kind of conditions that bring out the best in an apple: long sunshine hours, cool nights and free-draining soils. We’re proud to be one of the orchards growing it.
A fresh name for a variety we know well
Long-time followers of Fairfield Orchards might recognise the tree this fruit comes from. The Scifresh variety, one we’ve grown and loved for years, has been given a new name and a new look: Crunchi. Same great tree, new chapter.
Building sales with BVA, and heading further afield
Crunchi is proudly marketed and distributed by BVA Group, and the packaging has been designed to be bold and instantly recognisable on shelves around the world. This year, Crunchi from Fairfield Orchards has been heading to markets across Europe and Asia this season.
It’s an exciting milestone, and we’re looking forward to building on it. With BVA alongside us, we’re aiming to grow sales further and open up new markets in the seasons ahead.
A name with a personal touch
Before Crunchi became the name on the label, there were four options on the table. It turns out the one that made the final cut was also the team’s favourite from the start. We won’t say we had anything to do with that, but we might be a little chuffed about it.
