The Drummond family began farming 80+ years ago with a tobacco, hop, and sheep grazing farm down the Riwaka valley & incorporating the Takaka hill. In the 1980s Chris & Lyn Drummond transitioned the farm into a successful apple & kiwifruit orchard, becoming premium fruit growers and eventually developing their own packhouse operation.
Orchard work includes seasonal jobs such as fruit picking (apples & kiwifruit), packhouse jobs including graders and machinery operators, orchard hands, and orchard supervisors. Our main focus is to produce high-quality fruit for the international and local markets. The anticipation is building here at Fairfield Orchards in Riwaka as our ENVY apples near the moment of harvest! While the orchard looks peaceful at first glance, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes to ensure we bring you the best quality fruit.
We have a position available for an experienced Quality Controller for the 2025 Harvest season. The position will be full-time and fixed term beginning in February 2025 and ending upon completion of the Harvest Season in June.
