Kiwifruit Picking at Fairfield Orchards
Our delicious gold kiwifruit are ready to pick!
Description: We have kiwifruit picking work for Monday April 13th start. We expect this work will finish about four weeks later in May. Working Monday – Saturday, and often starting later in the mornings, this will be 40 or more hours of work a week. Kiwifruit picking is physical work requiring a good level of strength and fitness. You will be carrying a heavy picking bag, you will have your arms raised and using your hands above your head and you will move quickly. Tall (>~180cm) or short (<~165cm) people may struggle working under the kiwifruit canopy. Please contact us to arrange a time to meet us in person at our office at 91 Umukuri Road.
Start Date: The start date is dependent upon growing conditions and weather but we anticipate Monday 13th April 2026.
Hours: Our normal hours are 7.30 am to 4.30 pm Mon – Fri and longer hours including Saturday work will be necessary if the weather has been poor during the week, or during the harvest season.
Rates: From $24.50/hr while training and piece-work rates will apply. Eight percent holiday pay at the end of employment.
Location: 91 Umukuri Road, Riwaka, Motueka
Requirements:
- All applicants will need to have photo ID and proof they are eligible to work in NZ.
- Non-NZ residents without the right to work in New Zealand need not apply.
- You will need your own transport.
